Australian Women’s Sevens head coach John Manenti was in bullish good form today as he looked ahead to the World Cup, which kicks-off in San Francisco this Friday.

It’s huge congratulations to the Australian Women’s Sevens team and staff after they ensured a second ever World Series title with another unbeaten day in Paris, and a place in tomorrow’s final against New Zealand.  

Phase One of the Australian Women’s Sevens task in Paris is complete, with three successive victories leaving them top of Pool B as they chase a second World Series title.

Interim Australian Women’s Sevens head coach John Manenti has today been handed the reins on a permanent basis until 2021. Taking over from previous incumbent Tim Walsh, Manenti will continue his liaison with the side he has been involved with since 2015, and will lead them to Tokyo 2020 as they defend their Olympic title.

The Aon University Sevens Series will build on the success of its inaugural competition with the addition of three extra teams over the next two years.

With Charlotte Caslick back in the fold and some new faces enjoying their second taste of the HSBC World Series, Australian Women’s Sevens interim head coach John Manenti has plenty of reasons for positivity ahead of this weekend’s Langford Sevens in Canada.
