The Australian Men’s Sevens side has been dealt a blow ahead of the Commonwealth Games with the news that skipper Lewis Holland has been ruled out with a hamstring injury. Holland will be out of action for two months after damaging his leg in the most recent World Series event in Vancouver, where the Aussies finished sixth.

The Australian Men’s Sevens side have finished in 6th place for the second successive tournament after going down 31-14 with a depleted squad to England in the 5th place play-off.

They were made to work hard for it, but the Australian Men’s Sevens side rallied themselves in the pool stages on day one in Vancouver to finish unbeaten and earn a Cup Quarter-Final against series leaders South Africa tomorrow.
