Northern Suburbs have finally got their season underway, with a late second half surge against a below par Penrith lifting them to a 44-22 victory at Nepean Rugby Park.

Southern Districts have got their season underway at the second time of asking, with a narrow 24-19 victory over Eastern Suburbs. Having gone down heavily to Eastwood in last week’s opener, the boys from the Shire were keen to get on the board at Forshaw Park. But in a game that failed to reach any great heights, it took a try after the bell to earn the home side the spoils.

West Harbour have pulled off a stirring 2nd half comeback to open their season with a 27-all draw against Penrith at Concord Oval. Having trailed the Emus throughout the course of the match, a penalty from Shaun Treweek after the siren brought them a share of the spoils. But the visitors took home a bonus point after crossing for four tries.
